Osteonnyelitis of The Patella

Abstract
|

|
A 7 year-old primary school boy was visited with complaining of moderate tenderness and draining sinus on the antero-inferior surface of the left knee joint for about 9 months duration.
On radiological finding of the patella, there was found local rearefaction and fragmentation of the patella with local swelling of the soft tissue without evidence of joint involvement.
It was diagnosed as chronic osteomye-litis of the patella and confirmed by pathological findings. It was treated by patellectomy and physiotherapy with satisfactory result.
